The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has relieved Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu, and other members of the team’s technical crew of their duties with immediate effect.
The federation announced the decision in a brief statement on its official X account on Monday.
The NFF said its Executive Committee had directed members of the Super Falcons’ technical crew to step down.
The decision follows Nigeria’s disappointing outing at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Super Falcons crashed out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage after a 1-0 defeat to arch-rivals Cameroon.
Nigeria also suffered a setback in its bid to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup after losing 2-1 to South Africa and missing out on a place in the inter-confederation playoffs.
Madugu had faced mounting pressure over the team’s performances during the tournament.
The NFF has not announced a replacement for Madugu and the other members of the technical crew.
