A rescued member of the National Youth Service Corps has recounted the frightening experience of being held captive by kidnappers in a forest in Kogi State.
The NYSC member said the abductors threatened to kill the victims if they remained in captivity for one month, describing the ordeal as a traumatic experience.
The victim was among those rescued by security forces after spending days in captivity. The rescue has renewed concerns over the safety of corps members serving in areas affected by insecurity.
Security agencies have continued operations to track down criminal gangs and rescue remaining victims held in captivity.
