The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has summoned former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva, for questioning over an alleged 14.86-million-dollar fraud.
The former governor is expected to appear before investigators to respond to allegations surrounding the handling of funds during his tenure.
The invitation forms part of an ongoing investigation by the anti-graft agency into alleged financial misconduct. Sylva, who has previously held federal political office, is yet to publicly respond to the latest development.
The EFCC has intensified investigations into alleged corruption involving public officials, with several cases currently before the courts.
