In a major boost to national healthcare infrastructure, NASENI has partnered with a local firm to establish a massive factory capable of producing up to 600 million diagnostic test kits annually. Nigeria currently bears a significant portion of global malaria cases, and this facility represents a critical step toward healthcare independence.
The new “N-CheckUP” brand will cover multiple diseases, including malaria, typhoid, and HIV. The Minister of Health described the initiative as a game-changer that will drastically reduce import dependence while creating high-value biotech jobs. Additionally, the Federal Government has donated billions in medical equipment to states like Bauchi and recruited over 37,000 new health workers since 2023.
While digital solutions are actively being deployed to improve maternal health in places like Ekiti, challenges regarding infrastructure and the retention of medical personnel persist. This factory launch signals a stronger, sustained investment in preventive and diagnostic healthcare for all Nigerians.
