The Federal Government has made participation in tertiary institution ranking exercises compulsory for universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
The policy is expected to encourage institutions to provide accurate data on their academic programmes, infrastructure, research and other areas used in assessing institutional performance.
Government says the move is aimed at improving transparency, accountability and competitiveness within Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
Institutions will now be expected to participate in recognised ranking processes as part of broader efforts to improve the quality and global visibility of Nigerian higher education.
