Manchester City Brazilian have finalised the signing of Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras, with the 22-year-old putting pen to paper on a five-year contract in a deal worth up to £34.2 million.
The Premier League champions agreed to pay an initial £32 million for the right-sided attacker, while a further £2.2 million could be paid through performance-related bonuses. Allan arrives at the club as a replacement for fellow Brazilian Savio, who completed a £75 million move to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
A graduate of Palmeiras’ youth system, Allan registered nine goals and 12 assists in 96 appearances for the Brazilian side across all competitions.
Speaking after the move, the winger described the transfer as a significant moment in his career.
“This is a surreal moment for me. Premier League , with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players,” Allan said.
“To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life. I love Palmeiras and always will – but the decision to come to City was an easy one. I want to be the best footballer I can be and the conversations I’ve had with the people at City so far has convinced me there isn’t a better place for me to fulfil my ambitions.”
The signing is the latest addition to manager Enzo Maresca’s squad during a busy summer transfer period.
Manchester City have now spent more than £230 million on new players, following the arrivals of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a £116 million deal and Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for £85.6 million.
The club is also continuing discussions with Liverpool over Dutch forward Cody Gakpo and remains interested in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
To balance their spending, City have raised more than £286 million from player sales, including the £65 million transfer of 2026 World Cup Golden Ball winner Rodri to Barcelona and Tijani Reijnders’ £52 million move to Al-Qadsiah.
Additional revenue came from the permanent departures of Nico Gonzalez and James Trafford, while Omar Marmoush has joined Tottenham on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent next summer for £60 million.
