President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the Saturday, August 15, governorship election.
Adeleke disclosed this shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him winner of the poll.
The governor said Tinubu called to congratulate him, describing the gesture as a sign of support for Nigeria’s democratic process.
Adeleke also expressed confidence in his victory, attributing his success to his faith in God.
He said he expected the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to accept the election result and congratulate him.
According to Adeleke, such an action would demonstrate political maturity and civility.
The governor also thanked the President for supporting the democratic process and called on political stakeholders to uphold democratic values and respect the outcome of the election.
