President Bola Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the killing of about 30 people in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The President’s directive followed a deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward in the early hours of Monday. The assailants reportedly killed about 30 residents, including women and children, and set several houses ablaze.
Condemning the incident, Tinubu described the attack as an unprovoked act of terrorism against innocent and defenceless citizens. He said those responsible for the violence would be brought to justice.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President reaffirmed his administration’s determination to prevent criminal elements from undermining the peace and security recently recorded in Kaduna State.
Tinubu extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government, and the people of the state over the tragic loss of lives.
He assured the affected communities of the Federal Government’s support and reiterated its commitment to addressing security challenges across the country.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture by improving security infrastructure, equipping personnel, and dismantling criminal networks threatening peace and stability across Nigeria.
