Tension reportedly erupted at the polling unit of Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party running mate, Kola Adewusi, during Saturday’s governorship election.
The incident occurred after the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Benjamin Adereti, reportedly arrived at the polling unit to cast his vote.
The development allegedly triggered a confrontation between supporters of the two political parties, briefly disrupting activities at the polling unit.
Accord’s Adewusi is the running mate to Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, while Adereti is the running mate to APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
Details of what led to the reported confrontation were not immediately clear.
